• This action was brought to recover the value of property claimed to have been destroyed by a mob or riot. The plaintiff, as trustee, ■was the owner of premises situate on IToyt and Lyman streets in the city of Buffalo and of the buildings thereon. The buildings consisted of a slaughter house eighty-four feet in length and thirty-two ■feet in width, an icehouse sixty-five feet in length and thirty-two feet in width, and a wagon shed and stable eighty feet in length and sixty feet in width.
