*777 Defendant Archimede N. Nkiam, an alien who had obtained permanent legal resident status in the United States, appeals from an order denying his motion for appropriate relief ("MAR") that, asserted a claim of ineffective assistance of counsel ("IAC") with respect to his guilty plea to two crimes that led to the initiation of deportation proceedings.
