This is an action of ejectment commenced in the district court of Carter county, by the plaintiffs' in error against the defendants in error, to recover certain lands. The lands in controversy were allotted to Jim Lewis, a full-blood Mississippi Choctaw Indian, as his proportionate share of the tribal lands of the Choctaw Nation. In 1904, after receiving his allotment, Jim Lewis died, leaving the plaintiffs as his heirs.
