BAUER, Circuit Judge.

A jury convicted Eric C. Howard of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, including less than fifty kilograms of marijuana, a Schedule I narcotic. The district court sentenced him to thirty months imprisonment. Howard now appeals both his conviction and his sentence. He claims that his conviction was improper because: (1) the government did not provide substantial independent evidence to corroborate his pre-trial statements; and (2) the district court erred by not instructing the jury to specifically find that the government must provide…
