Plaintiff, Hershel Radio Company, a partnership whose 2 members are residents of the State of Michigan, brought suit against defendants Pennsylvania Railroad Company, a Pennsylvania corporation, and Southern Pacific Railroad Company, a Delaware corporation. Plaintiff claims damage to its goods that, were shipped from Stockyards, California, to Detroit, Michigan, and for which the defendant Southern Pacific Company issued its bill of lading to plaintiff on August 7,1948, at Stockyards, California.
