Whether a judgment of conviction under nine counts of forgery can be sustained, is the question raised by this appeal.

The first count of the indictment charges Alfred L. Cline with forgery committed as follows: “The said Alfred L. Cline on or about the 9th day of November A.D. nineteen hundred and forty-five at the City and County of San Francisco, State of California, with the intent then and there to cheat, prejudice, damage and defraud Elizabeth Cline, Walter Graf and Title Insurance Company, a corporation, did then and there knowingly, willfully, fraudulently, falsely, and feloniously…
