This proceeding in error was instituted for the purpose of reviewing the action of the trial court in issuing a peremptory writ of mandamus, requiring the plaintiff in error, as commissioner of the city of Collinsville, to call an election for the purpose of voting upon a recall petition, filed pursuant to the provisions of its charter, for the purpose of removing from office two of the respondent’s fellow commissioners.
