On March. 2, 1966, the defendant was tried before a jury on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, in violation of § 14-227a of the General Statutes, and of reckless driving, in violation of § 14-222. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty on each count. The verdict was accepted and ordered recorded by the court, and the defendant was discharged.
