MIKVA, Circuit Judge:

Stephanie Trakas appeals from the district court’s dismissal of her case with prejudice for want of prosecution. Trakas had sued Quality Brands, Inc., for breach of contract and for sex-based discrimination in violation of Title VII, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e et seq. and the Equal Pay Act, 29 U.S.C. § 206. We find that in the special circumstances of this case, the trial judge abused her discretion by denying a continuance and dismissing the suit with prejudice. We therefore…
