In this case we consider whether a law firm may represent a defendant accused of shooting and lulling another of the firm’s clients. Our Rules of Professional Conduct (RPCs) prohibit an attorney from undertaking representation of a client when that representation will be directly adverse to the interests of another client. RPC 1.7(a). For a two-week period, members of the law firm involved here served as the attorney of record for the accused defendant and the victim.
