¶ 1 In this appeal, we must determine whether the trial court properly vacated the Corrected and Clarified Arbitration Decision and Award (hereinafter “Clarified Award”) under the functus officio doctrine which prevents arbitrators from taking any further action once an arbitration award has been issued. Specifically, we are asked to decide whether any of the exceptions to this doctrine are applicable herein. We hold that the initial Arbitration Decision and Award (hereinafter “Initial Award”) in this case contained a clear error which was apparent on the face of the award.…
