This action commenced with the filing by plaintiffs of a praecipe for a writ of summons on June 7, 1994. Thereafter, on January 19, 1995, plaintiffs filed a complaint against defendants. In their complaint, plaintiffs alleged that on January 20, 1990, plaintiff Michael C. Dennis was involved in an accident on Interstate 80 and was seriously injured. Consequently, plaintiffs eventually retained defendant Hunt as their counsel to pursue a lawsuit against those responsible for Mr. Dennis’ injuries.
