BURNS, C.J.
Defendant Junior Masaniai (Masaniai) appeals from the district court’s April 21, 1989 judgment finding him guilty of assault in the third degree, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) § 707-712(l)(a) (1985), and sentencing him “to serve 30 days in [Oahu Community Correctional Center]” (assault judgment). On May 5, 1989 the district court stayed the execution of the sentence pending appeal. We affirm the assault judgment.
