The Reporter'’s statemént of the case: What plaintiff did was just what anybody else would have done where he was dealing with an agent whose powers were limited — it took what it could get under the restrictions imposed on the disbursing officers and then brought one suit against the principal for the aggregate of the improper deductions. Instead of filing a multitude of suits, it has filed one suit, and this clearly was the most sensible thing to do, the most convenient to everybody, with no chance of doing anybody any possible harm unless it was the claimant and other interested carriers…

The plaintiff’s action is for the recovery of a sum made up of amounts alleged to be due on several hundred different items of freight transportation furnished the United States within six years next before the commencement of the action.
