The granted issue questions admissibility of two pretrial statements made by appellant.1 Appellant was convicted, contrary to his pleas, of one specification of assault consummated by a battery upon a child under the age of 16 (committed at Hanau, Federal Republic of Germany) and one *405specification of fraudulent enlistment, in violation of Articles 128 and 83, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 928 and 883, respectively.2 Both pretrial statements in issue relate to the assault specification, and both were the subject of a preliminary motion to suppress…
