GARTH, Circuit Judge.
On October 11, 1975, the appellant, Ted R. Grayson, without authority left the Al-lenwood Federal Prison camp, where he had been serving a three-year sentence for a controlled substances conviction. Two days later, he was apprehended in New York City.
