The county collector of Pike county applied to the court below, at its May term, 1892, for a judgment against certain property for delinquent taxes assessed against it by the assessor of one of the townships of that county, for the year 1891. The assessment was against a fractional piece of land containing 21 and 38-100 acres, as belonging to the Mississippi Bridge Company. The Chicago and Alton Railroad Company. appeared and filed objections to the application, setting up that the property was part of its railroad, denominated by law “railroad track,” and, as such, subject to assessment by…
