Following his convictions for armed robbery 1 and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, 2 Arturo Baldivia appeals the denial of his motion for new trial, arguing, among other things, that: (1) the evidence was insufficient to support his convictions; (2) the State improperly introduced evidence which constituted comments on his silence after he was arrested and given Miranda warnings; (3) his rights were violated because the court-provided interpreter failed to translate effectively for him; (4) the trial court failed to properly charge the jury…
