¶1 MH, the former stepfather of 12-year-old BMH,1 petitioned the trial court to designate him as BMH’s de facto parent or, alternatively, to award him nonparental custody of BMH. The trial court dismissed MH’s de facto parentage action, concluding that In re Parentage of M.F., 168 Wn.2d 528, 228 P.3d 1270 (2010), and the availability of other statutory remedies precluded such an action.
