The plaintiff in this case recovered judgment against defendant for damages on account of injuries received by him while employed in the paper mill of defendant at Kalamazoo, which injuries are claimed by him to have been caused by the negligence of defendant. His employment was that of operating certain machines known as “washers,” in which the pulp used in manufacturing paper was washed. A washer consists of a tank 12 feet in diameter and 8 feet in depth.
