OPINION

BILLINGS, Associate Presiding Judge:

This is an appeal from a jury verdict in a negligence action. Plaintiff Pearl Steffen-sen was injured in defendant Smith’s Management Corporation’s (“Smith”) grocery store by a shoplifter attempting to flee from the store’s management. The jury found Smith was negligent, but the negligence was not the proximate cause of Mrs. Steffensen’s injury.
