Mandamus by Fred A. Maynard, attorney general, to compel the Fort Street Union Depot Company to aid in the maintenance and repair of a certain viaduct.

The relator asks for a writ of mandamus to compel the respondent to aid in the maintenance and repair of a viaduct over certain streets in the city of Detroit. The record shows that in October, 1889, the respondent presented to the railroad-crossing board a map and survey of its depot grounds and the route of its proposed tracks for approval. At this time the company contemplated building a trestle or viaduct along and over River street, in the city of Detroit, crossing the tracks of the Michigan Central Railroad, near Eleventh street.
