OPINION DISMISSING STATE-LAW CLAIMS AGAINST MDNR
HILLMAN, Senior District Judge.
This hazardous waste cleanup case brought under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), 42 U.S.C. § 9601 et seq., is presently being tried before the court. On April 30, eight days before the beginning of trial, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (“MDNR”) moved to dismiss the state-law claims brought against it by Aerojet-General Corporation, Cordova Chemical Company and Cordova Chemical Company of Michigan (“the Cordova defendants”).
