The plaintiff seeks to enforce a contract under which he was to be paid “3J4 per cent, on all sales” as a commission for services as a sales agent of defendant. After a verdict for plaintiff, the trial court granted a motion of defendant for judgment notwithstanding the verdict, and plaintiff appeals.

Defendant was engaged in the business of distributing binder twine under a working agreement with a Chicago company, and engaged plaintiff as a sales agent. A portion of the agreement of the parties was reduced to writing, and reads as follows:
