In this appeal, we consider the voluntariness of a confession by defendant, a juvenile, in a custodial setting. Defendant confessed to committing certain offenses after waiving his constitutional rights in the presence of his mother and deciding that he did not *308want her present in the interrogation room. At the outset of the interrogation, the parent agreed she should not be present.
