We granted certiorari to review Gilman v. State, 932 P.2d 832 (Colo.App.1996), in which the court of appeals reversed the trial court’s grant of summary judgment in favor of the State of Colorado (the State) in a case involving the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act (the Act), sections 24-10-101 to -120, 7 C.R.S. (1997).
