MEMORANDUM

MOTZ, Chief Judge.

Plaintiff Robert L. Canady sues the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit. Authority (WMATA), Amalgamated Transit Union AFL-CIO, Local 689 (Local 689), and the Transit Employees Health and Welfare Plan (the Plan) to recover life insurance benefits. The case arises from the denial of plaintiffs claim for $20,000 of life insurance benefits after the death of his wife. Defendants maintain that plaintiffs wife failed to make the contributions required to maintain benefits and had notice that her benefits therefore had been suspended.
