Defendants appeal as of right from a January 8, 1988, judgment on a jury verdict of $17,500. Defendants challenge the award of interest and costs contained in the judgment. We reverse in part as to the costs awarded to plaintiffs.

On June 14, 1983, plaintiff Stephanie Stamp sustained injuries as a result of an automobile accident with defendant Ernest Hagerman, Jr. On February 13, 1985, Stephanie Stamp and Timothy Stamp, her husband, filed a negligence claim against Ernest and a co-owner of the automobile, defendant Pat Hagerman, alleging that Stephanie Stamp sustained a serious bodily injury…
