This is an action for rent.

On March 29, 1929, George A. Mottman and wife leased a ground floor room in the Mottman building, a five-story structure in Seattle, to the Western Union Telegraph Company, for a period of ten years, beginning on April 1, 1929. The lessee occupied the prem ises as a branch office for the receipt and delivery of telegrams. In March, 1934, the lessors transferred their interest to The Mottman Mercantile Company.
