MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

DOUMAR, District Judge.

Defendant Quentin Shannon Ponder stands accused of capital murder and related offenses in connection with the death of his mother, Gloria J. Ponder. The Government has filed a Notice of Intent to Seek the Death Penalty, which is commonly referred to as a Death Notice. Presently before the Court is Defendant’s Motion to Strike the Death Notice, alleging that it was not filed a reasonable time before trial and therefore must be invalidated pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 3593(a).
