Claimant, a Cook County sheriff’s department correctional officer, filed an application for adjustment of claim over injuries he received while playing in a basketball game as a member of the sheriff's department team. The arbitrator awarded benefits, concluding that the accident occurred in the course of employment due to respondent’s control and supervision of, and the benefit it enjoyed from, the operation of the team.
