This case is on remand from the Supreme Court. In Warmus v. Melahn, 62 F.3d 252 (8th Cir.1995), vacated and remanded, -U.S. -, 116 S.Ct. 2493, 135 L.Ed.2d 187 (1996), we upheld the district court’s dismissal of Warmus’s 42 U.S.C. § 1983 damages action on the basis of Younger abstention, which is premised on the “longstanding public policy against federal court interference with state court proceedings.” Younger v.
