On and prior to March 2, 1936, the Hon. W. R. Shackelford was the regular judge of the Eighteenth judicial circuit court district in this commonwealth embracing the county of Jessamine. A regular term of the Jessamine circuit court opened under the provisions of law on the day indicated; but prior thereto the fact was duly manifested to the Chief Justice of the Court of Appeals that Judge Shackelford was ill and would be unable to preside at..that term of the court.
