Bar Counsel for the Alaska Bar Association opened two grievance files in 2007 regarding attorney Geoffrey J. McGrath. In April 2011 McGrath and Bar Counsel stipulated to a resolution of the grievances without a formal hearing; the stipulation details the factual underpinnings of McGrath's ethical violations and provides for a three-year suspension from the practice of law and a number of conditions for reinstatement.
