The board of county commissioners of Barton county contracted with the Jenkins Construction Company, composed of E. N. Jenkins and George E. Sheldon, to build and repair seven bridges which had been destroyed or injured by the floods of 1912. The construction company furnished a bond for the faithful performance of the contract, signed by the Western Casualty & Guaranty Insurance Company as surety.
