Appeal from a judgment of the superior court for Pierce county, Huston, J., entered March 4, 1905, in favor of plaintiff upon the defendant’s default, in an action on a benefit certificate, and from an order entered March 13, 1905, denying a motion to vacate the default and judgment.

The defendant is a benefit association organized and existing under the laws of the state of Michigan, and having its principal office in that state. This action was brought to recover the amount of a benefit certificate issued by the association to one Ruel P. Bennett, and made payable to the plaintiff, as his widow, in the event of his death.
