Before the Court is petitioner Martin E. Grant’s pro se habeas corpus petition under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. Petitioner is a state inmate at Ryan Correctional Facility in Detroit, Michigan. In 1988, he was charged on alternative grounds with premeditated first-degree murder and first-degree felony murder. On September 29, 1988, a jury in Recorder’s Court for the City of Detroit, Michigan found petitioner guilty of murder in the second degree and first-degree felony murder.
