Defendant, Northern Benefit Association, appeals from a judgment entered against it and in favor of plaintiff on a directed verdict in a suit to recover death benefits claimed under a certificate issued to plaintiff’s husband. The defendant is a corporation apparently operating as a mutual benefit association under section 6159, Revised Codes, since it has no reserve or guarantee fund and is not, therefore, an assessment life insurance company under Chapter 34 of the Civil Code, sections 6293 to 6304, and since it has not a “lodge system with ritualistic form of work” and its membership is…
