Defendant's fast southbound passenger train, at the hour of 12:55 A.M., October 10, 1941, near the Village of Cypress, in Natchitoches Parish, ran into and killed five mares and one filly, the property of plaintiff. This suit was instituted to recover the value of the stock, the sum of Five Hundred Twenty ($520.00) Dollars.
