Jihan Hatem Almuhtaseb (“Almuhtaseb”) petitions this court for review of the denial of her request for asylum, or, in the alternative, withholding of removal, by the Board of Immigration Appeals (“BIA”). Almuhtaseb’s petition allows us to consider for the first time the effect of § 106(a)(l)(A)(iii) of the REAL ID Act of 2005 (“REAL ID Act”), 8 U.S.C. § 1252(a)(2)(D), on our ability to review denials of asylum based on untimeliness.
