This suit in equity was instituted in the Circuit Court of Raleigh County in June, 1950, by the plaintiff, the State of West Virginia, by the Deputy Commissioner of Forfeited and Delinquent Lands for Raleigh County, West Virginia, against Grace Davis and several other persons and corporations, including the defendant Raleigh County Land Company, a corporation, as the former owners of certain tracts of delinquent and forfeited lands which had been forfeited to the State and had become irredeemable for the nonpayment of taxes assessed against them, to sell such lands for the…
