Plaintiff appeals as of right from the trial court’s marital property determination in a divorce granted on August 29, 1980. We reverse.

The parties were married on December 21, 1973. At the time of the marriage, defendant owned a cabin on Lake Superior which was encumbered by a $6,000 mortgage, the furniture in the cabin, a 1973 Toyota automobile, and a small savings account. Plaintiff owned a substantial amount of furniture and the proceeds of a land contract on property she had sold prior to the marriage. During the marriage, both parties were employed.
