WISS, Judge:

A general court-martial composed of a military judge alone tried appellant at First Coast Guard District, Boston, Massachusetts, during September 1989. After pleading guilty, appellant was convicted of two specifications of unauthorized absence, two specifications of dereliction of duty, seven *134specifications of cocaine use, five specifications of cocaine distribution; as well as one specification each of sodomy and being drunk and disorderly in a public place to the disgrace of the armed forces.
