An action brought against defendant to recover damages for personal injuries sustained by plaintiff on June 4, 1938, when the automobile being driven by the latter was struck by the automobile being driven by defendant, at the intersection of Cermak road, a State highway, and First avenue, in the Village of North Riverside, Illinois. A jury returned a verdict for plaintiff assessing his damages at the sum of $2,000. Plaintiff filed a motion for a new trial. Defendant did not make a motion for a new trial. Plaintiff’s motion for a new trial was denied and judgment was entered upon the verdict.…
