Plaintiffs DIRECTV, Inc. and EchoStar Satellite, LLC, providers of satellite television programming, brought this suit claiming that North Carolina’s system of taxing multi-channel television programming violates the Dormant Commerce Clause of Article I of the United States Constitution.
