Plaintiff June M. Caruso commenced this action against St. Jude Children’s ' Hospital (“St.Jude”), her former employer, on August 10, 2001. In her complaint, Caruso asserts state law claims of defamation, outrageous conduct, and retaliatory discharge under Tennessee common law and the Tennessee Public Protection Act (“TPPA”), Tenn.Code Ann. § 50-1-304.
