Appeal from an order of the Family Court of *670Montgomery County (Going, J.), entered January 18, 2000, which granted petitioner’s application, in a proceeding pursuant to Family Court Act article 10, to adjudicate respondent’s child to be neglected.

Respondent is the mother of Chantel ZZ. (born in 1985). Respondent resides with her husband and four-year-old son, Chantel’s half-brother. Respondent and Chantel’s difficult relationship has resulted in voluntary and involuntary counseling for them individually and as a family in recent years.
