FRYE, Justice.

Defendant was indicted for the first-degree murder of Kenneth Lee Hill. He was tried noncapitally by a jury, found guilty as charged, and sentenced to a mandatory term of life imprisonment. Defendant appealed to this Court asserting four assignments of error. We find no reversible error.

The evidence at trial tended to show the following: At about 2:00 a.m. on 9 July 1992, Officer William Caulk of the Wilmington Police Department responded to a call at the Jervay Housing Project in Wilmington. When the officer arrived, he observed the body of the victim, Kenneth Lee Hill, lying…
