Anju Kokar v. Alberto R. Gonzales
Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit
1Opinion of the Court
RIPPLE, Circuit Judge.
Anju Kokar was taken into custody by the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) after overstaying her visitor’s visa. Her applications for asylum, withholding of removal and relief under the Convention Against Torture were denied by an Immigration Judge (“IJ”). Ms. Ko-kar filed an appeal with the Board of Immigration Appeals (“BIA”), which summarily affirmed the IJ’s decision. Ms. Ko-kar then sought further review in this court. For the reasons set forth in this opinion, we now affirm the decision of the Board and deny the petition for review.
