This is an appeal by defendants from a judgment entered in favor of the plaintiff.

The plaintiff-respondent is an aunt of Marie Mehrens, and will be referred to as the respondent. The Mehrens, husband and wife, will be referred to as appellants. The injury suffered by the respondent arose as a result of a visit by her to the home of the defendants wherein she stepped backward and fell down a basement stairs.
